Ride With Confidence
Tires for Every Vehicle, Every Season, and Every Budget
It may sound cliché, but it’s true: your tires are the only connection between your vehicle and the road. Every stop, turn, and acceleration depends entirely on the condition and quality of your tires. No matter how advanced your vehicle is, worn or incorrect tires can compromise safety, handling, and performance.
Tires are one of the most important — and often overlooked — components of your vehicle. While they may not be the least expensive maintenance item, they are one of the most critical when it comes to protecting you, your passengers, and everyone else on the road.
At Legacy Auto Clinic, we believe tire education is just as important as tire replacement. Our goal is to help you understand when tires are needed, why they matter, and which option makes the most sense for your driving habits and budget.

Choosing the Right Tire for Your Driving Needs
Not all tires are created equal. Colorado’s changing weather makes selecting the right tire especially important.
All-Season Tires
- Designed to perform reasonably well in most weather conditions
- Good balance of comfort, longevity, and light winter traction
- Ideal for drivers who want convenience year-round
- Not optimized for extreme winter or high-performance summer driving
All-Weather Tires
- A step above all-season tires
- Rated for year-round use, including moderate snow
- Carry the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) rating
- Great option for drivers who want winter capability without switching tires seasonally
Winter / Snow Tires
- Built specifically for cold temperatures, snow, and ice
- Softer rubber compounds stay flexible below 45°F
- Aggressive tread patterns provide superior traction and stopping power
- Strongly recommended for mountain driving and harsh Colorado winters
Summer Tires
- Designed for warm weather performance
- Provide maximum grip, handling, and braking on dry and wet roads
- Not safe in cold temperatures or snow
- Common on sports cars and performance vehicles
Our team will help you decide which tire category best matches your vehicle, driving style, and seasonal needs.
Signs Your Tires May Need to Be Replaced
Tread Depth
Use the penny test:
Insert a penny into the tread with Lincoln’s head facing down. If you can see the top of his head, tread depth is below 2/32” and the tire should be replaced.
Cracks or Bulges
Sidewall cracks or bulges indicate structural damage and increase the risk of a blowout — these require immediate attention.
Tire Age
Most manufacturers recommend replacing tires every 6–10 years, regardless of tread depth. Rubber degrades over time.
Uneven Wear
May indicate alignment or suspension issues and can shorten tire life significantly.
Frequent Air Loss
Repeated air loss may signal punctures or internal damage.
When Can a Tire Be Repaired?
If you see, hear, or feel something unusual, have your tires inspected immediately.
Not all damage requires replacement — some punctures can be safely repaired depending on location and severity. Tires are not something to gamble with.

- Inspect tires during routine maintenance
- Have wheels aligned and balanced annually or if vibration occurs
- Pulling or drifting may indicate uneven wear, alignment issues, or worn tread
